5 Helpful Tips for WITS Travel Creator Summit: Blogging Conference Review
I am a participant in affiliate programs, so basically I earn a small commission if you use any of the affiliate links on this post - at no extra cost to you! Dope right?

After almost six years of blogging (omg WOW has it really been that long??), I have finally attended my first blogging conference, the WITS Travel Creator Summit. Blogging conferences aren’t a new thing, nor are they new to me. I’ve always known about them…but I’ve never felt the need to attend. For one, if you haven’t noticed, I don’t have any ads on my website. My blog isn’t monetized. In fact, I blog at a deficit hahah. I blog for FUN!
Yes, I know, there are silly gooses out there that spend hours upon hours of labor putting together travel itineraries, reviews, and cultural musings for…the pure sake of it.
Wild.
The second reason I never thought about attending a blogging conference was because…they’re expensive. Both in money and in time. Again, blogging is NOT my job. It does not pay ANY sort of bill (it is a bill, lol). I have a full time non-remote job with a limited amount of vacation. Attending a blogging conference would mean I would have to use some of my precious PTO to travel to whatever destination was hosting the conference, and then PAY to stay in a conference room all day instead of exploring.
Yeah….that just never appealed to me.

Why Did I Attend

So, with all that in mind, what finally made me attend the my first blogging conference? Honestly, it was a push from my dear friends Millette from The Next Somewhere and Tara from Silly Little Kiwi. I had met up with Millette a few times before, but Tara and I live an entire continent and ocean apart so it’s been hard for our schedules to overlap.
Back in 2022, we were planning on attending a blogging conference but…flights and hotels ended up being ridiculously expensive for Memphis, Tennessee, a destination I had already been a few months prior (which I also wrote a blog post for! 3 Days in Memphis Travel Guide!)
So, we rescheduled tentatively for 2023. If the location, price, and life flexibilities were all there, we would take the leap to all attend our first blogging conference. If not for anything else but the experience and a chance to hang out and kiki with each other.
Fast forward to the announcement that the 2023 WITS Travel Creator Summit would be held in none other than PUERTO RICO. It was a destination I had never been to before (and had been dying to visit!) – check. I had a good amount of airline and hotel points from the EXTREME spending I did for Antarctica (lol…🥲), so at least those portions would be covered – check. And it seemed like everything else was falling into place (no one else at work had that week off, a friend was able to cat-sit, my mother’s health had stabilized a bit, etc etc). Check check check.
It looked like I was headed to the WITS Travel Creator Summit in Puerto Rico 2023! In total, our little group consisted of me, Millette, Sojourner from Sojournies, and Michele from Adventures Abound.

What is WITS?
Before I get into all the nooks and crannies of what to expect from a blogging conference…for those of you who aren’t in the blogging space or have just never heard of this particular one…what the heck is WITS???
So WITS stands for Women in Travel Summit. It is a blogging conference hosted by Wanderful, a travel company focused on bringing together women and gender-diverse folk who are looking for a community rooted in travel. Okay okay, that was a lot of words – in the simplest of definitions, Wanderful is essentially a travel club for women and WITS is a conference they host every year specifically for travel bloggers and creators.

WITS was launched back in 2014, and was created in direct response to the lack of gender diversity in the industry. At the time, there were no conferences that specifically highlighted and celebrated voices who weren’t cis-men. WITS Travel Creator Summit has grown since then, and it is now one of the largest blogging conferences out there, bringing together travel bloggers, brands, and industry makers under one roof to spend an entire weekend networking and discussing all things TRAVEL.
How Much is WITS?
And now the question on everyone’s mind – how much is a ticket to WITS Travel Creator Summit? Well…it’s not cheap. Retail price (in USD) for a ticket to WITS is $399 for bloggers, influencers, and content creators. For creators, there is also an optional add-on ticket for a “beginner’s bootcamp” half-day program for an additional $100. The ticket is $999 for industry professionals, PR and marketing agencies, and brand representatives.

I have no clue about the industry ticket, but here’s what the $399 bloggers ticket gets you:
- all sessions and workshops for the 3-day conference (blogger’s bootcamp excluded)
- media marketplace (a speed-networking event)
- official parties and happy hours offsite from the conference
- Sunday lunch
- tours and trips (more on that later)
- Bessie awards ceremony
If you’ve never been to a blogging conference, those bullet points may not mean much to you. I’ll try my best to break it down for you, but honestly, it still might not mean too much to you until you actually go – but here goes!
Ticket Breakdown
Multiple sessions and workshops by other bloggers and industry professionals are given throughout the conference, anything from “how to negotiate contracts” to SEO and/or photography tips. There are a LOT of sessions each day and, unfortunately, it’s usually 3 or 4 overlapping at the same time, so realistically you cannot attend all of them. But usually (unless you leave one early to hop around), you can manage a full schedule with 3 sessions a day.

The Media Marketplace is, in my opinion, the most monetarily valuable aspect of the conference. It’s basically a fancy term for the networking corner. All of the brands, tourism boards, and companies attending WITS Travel Creator Summit will set up booths and creators will have the opportunity to sit down for a quick introduction and swap contact information. If you’re looking to secure partnerships and sponsorships…this is the place to do it.
There will also be a few happy hours and parties hosted by the tourism board that is hosting the destination, and they happened the night before and the first night of the WITS Travel Creator Summit. The happy hours were super casual, located at a few of the local bars in town, and I believe we were allotted one free drink (or mocktail) at each venue. The official welcoming party was a lot larger, with performers, food, and drinks. Then there’s one final Sunday buffet lunch on the last day of the conference.

Another huge perk of attending WITS Travel Creator Summit is the hosted FAM tours and trips. Your WITS Travel Creator Summit includes guided tours around the destination. Some are even multi-day excursions! So cooking classes, catamarans, BTS of popular attractions, food tours, hiking tours…all that! Many of them are first come/sign-up, first serve, but the multi-day excursions are on application bases.
And last but not least, the Bessie Awards. During each WITS Travel Creator Summit, there is an awards ceremony highlighting excellence in the travel industry space. Everyone gets dressed up and there are small bites and a drink or two. It’s cute.
Free Tickets?
Depending on your budget, maybe the full retail price is out of your price range. Hey, I’ve been there/am currently there, okay? The good news is that you don’t HAVE to pay retail price. There are usually some sales throughout the year leading up to WITS Travel Creator Summit that can get you some money off.
There are early bird discounts (released right after the previous WITS Travel Creator Summit wraps up), and then various sales during normal holiday times. I bought my ticket during Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales time and got $125 USD off! So a pretty solid deal! However, if you want to cut down the price even more…there are *whispers* free tickets.
WHAT?!?!

Yeah I know, I didn’t learn about it until AFTER I had already bought mine, but it is possible to get a free ticket to WITS Travel Creator Summit. The most straightforward way to do this is to volunteer at the WITS Travel Creator Summit. You do have to do a little work, but it seemed like there is still a lot of opportunity to sit in on the sessions, network, and attend the hosted tours and whatnot, so I’d say it’s a good tradeoff!
Wanderful also has a few sporadic giveaways for free tickets, and if you are chosen to be a speaker or are nominated for a Bessie Award, I believe you can also get free tickets (plural!!!) that way. Also…some people just get sent free tickets based on merit. Idk what the parameters of that are, and I didn’t get put on that list, but something to keep your eye out for!
What to Expect
So, you’ve decided to take the leap and attend WITS Travel Creator Summit. Now what? Here are a few of the things you should expect at WITS, or any blogging conference, for your first time!
1. Everyone will be nervous – it’s normal!

Believe me when I tell you: 80% of the other attendees at the WITS Travel Creator Summit are just as nervous as you are – including the industry professionals! The other 20% of folks have probably done a few travel blogging conferences before, or….they’re Leos.
And even then, Leos are GREAT at feigning confidence when they need to make it count!
So don’t feel weird if you have the jitters. Everyone will. When you think about it, constantly putting yourself out there and “selling yourself” is a bit strange, it’s not something most of us do on a daily basis, especially not in person. I saw a lot of other people standing off the the corner and pretending they suddenly have something VERY interesting to look at on their phone. You won’t be the only one. Ease into interactions as slow or as fast as needed.
2. It’s Fast-Paced!

This was probably the most surprising aspect of WITS Travel Creator Summit for me. The entire conference is super fast-paced, with daily events and sessions and speakers back to back to back. I’m talking MAYBE 10-15 minutes between each. It doesn’t leave much room for relaxing, let alone a peaceful bathroom break. And don’t get me started on lunch and dinner breaks, which were about 1-1.5hrs. That’s barely enough time to Uber to a restaurant.
Now that I’ve given you a heads-up, I also want you to know that it is OKAY TO SKIP THINGS. Prioritize properly nourishing yourself. For the love of all that is holy, prioritize your bladder!! Yeah yeah, you might miss a session here or there, but it is better than burning yourself out. If there is a block of sessions that you aren’t particularly interested in, take that time to hang out and connect with other creators and go out to explore the city!
3. Ain’t Nothin but an (After) Party

If you thought WITS Travel Creator Summit was all work and no play, you would be wrong. Yes, there will be happy hours and WITS parties and social events and all that…but then there will also be unofficial parties put together by none other than…other bloggers! You should expect to be invited out to dinners and dancing and bars with other bloggers after the day’s sessions have wrapped. These of course are not obligatory by any means, none of the conference is when you think about it, but before you say no, just think.
Why not?
If your social battery can take it, join in on the festivities! It isn’t often that you’ll be in a town with literally 400 other bloggers. It’s a great chance to get to know your creative peers, and even potentially build future connections with them! Whatever you do, be open to new conversations and new friendships, you never know what doors (both business AND personal!) could appear from even just a friendly introduction.
On that same note tho…also know when to leave a party. You do have a conference to get to in the morning after all.
4. Networking is KING

You’re at a conference. NETWORKING IS ABOUT TO TAKE OVER.
And I don’t even mean in the traditional sense a la the Media Marketplace speed-networking event. Perhaps I was a bit more sensitive to it since I’m not used to networking in the blogging world, but even peer-to-peer introductions will feel like a networking session. Here’s what you’re going to encounter:
Person 1: Hello there! Nice to meet you!
You: Likewise!
Person 1: So what’s your blog and what do you do?
Now this isn’t inherently a bad thing. It is just the environment of the WITS Travel Creator Summit – or any conference for that matter – so don’t be alarmed that your brand is the first thing that people are interested in learning about you. In my opinion, that’ll I’ll dive more into later, networking is probably the most valuable takeaway from WITS Travel Creator Summit. AND I’ll even go as far as to say that peer-to-peer networking is THE most valuable takeaway, and then networking with brands and whatnot comes after.
So yes, expect networking, but even more so EMBRACE it. Even if you don’t have a monetized blog, it’s always beneficial to know others in the industry!
5. FAM Trips and Tours

And on that note, another valuable perk of attending WITS Travel Creator Summit are the FAM trips and tours. Okay….and what are FAM tours? Included in your ticket price to WITS Travel Creator Summit are “FAM tours,” and these are dedicated experiences at the destination (heritage tours, walking tours, food and cooking classes, outdoor activities like snorkeling and ziplining etc etc) at no extra cost to the attendee.
In general, tour registrations are first come first served and can be registered for by any WITS attendee. Participants may attend as many tours as they’d like, as long as they do not register for the same kind of tour multiple times or different tours that occur at conflicting or back-to-back times.
There are also “FAM trips,” which are multi-day experiences- housing, transportation, and activities still completely included in your ticket price! But slightly different than the FAM tours, the trips are by application only. So you may or may not be chosen for the trip you apply for. Attendees may apply for more than one FAM trip, and WITS will ensure that those who are accepted are not placed on FAM trips that occur at conflicting times. Applicants will be notified either way if they have been accepted for a FAM trip a month prior to the WITS Travel Creator Summit.
It’s mutually beneficial really. The destination gets to showcase everything it has to offer to hundreds of thousands of people who follow the travel bloggers attending WITS Travel Creator Summit, and you…well, get a free (well, included) experience and content! Win-win!
Overall Experience

Now that you have a little bit of context on what the WITS Travel Creator Summit is and what to expect…well, now it’s time for the juicy bit. What did I think of my first travel blogging conference experience?
OVERALL – my experience was positive. Putting the fabulous location of Puerto Rico aside, it was my first WITS Travel Creator Summit and my first blogging conference. I came into it with very low expectations (I wasn’t banking on scoring any major sponsorships or anything), and I was only really looking forward to seeing a few internet friends that I’ve followed for a few years now. While there were some bumps and hiccups (that I’ll get into next), what made WITS an overall positive experience were all the other bloggers.
I LOVE LOVE LOVED that I got to hang out with digital friends that I have followed for literal YEARS, and even got to know creators who I have admired and cheered on, but never had the opportunity before to meet the person behind the brand. Not to mention all the NEW friends I made!

I appreciated all the events that allowed us to mingle with each other. Even as what some would consider a “smaller” blogger, I didn’t feel out of place or like I didn’t belong with some of the bigger names. I felt as though the WITS Travel Creator Summit created a very encouraging and welcoming environment for participants, no matter what stage they are at in their blogging.
That said, some of the sessions did seem geared a bit more toward beginners in terms of content. In that regard, I do think depending on where you are in your blogging era, you might find more value in different areas (information/learnings in sessions vs networking with brands/peers). I did like that there were a variety of sessions and panelists, and though some were geared more toward beginners, it was still good knowledge.
Average Day at WITS

So I’ve outlined a bit of what to expect, but…what does an average day at a WITS Travel Creator Summit conference really look like? Well, a bit like this:
- Sunrise-8am ish: If you’re hoping to get a bit of content out of your time at WITS, you’ll probably be waking up early. One, because you’ll be busy the rest of the day at the conference. But also two, it truly is the best time for photos. Since you’re at an event with a ton of other bloggers, you can use this time to meet up with others for pics, or go solo. Then try to squeeze in a breakfast before you head over to the conference!
- 9am-11:30am: Time for sessions! They are about an hour long each, so you may be able to do one or two! You can also use this time to swing by a few of the brand/tourism board booths at the Media Marketplace
- 12pm-1pm: Wrap up sessions/networking and break for a quick lunch. Not much time to go somewhere too far offsite, so plan accordingly!
- 1pm-4pm: More sessions and networking!
- 5pm-6pm: Dinner break
- 6pm-9pm: Usually some sort of WITS party or event. You may have to head back to your room to change, so again, plan accordingly!
- 9pm-onwards: You will be invited out to after parties, or a local lounge, or late night bites…just know your limit because you’ll have to get up bright and early the next day to do it all over again. Or…DONT and sleep in! WITS Travel Creator Summit is what you make of it after all!

Things I Wish Were Different
But of course, I do have some feedback. While I found the WITS Travel Creator Summit to be a really solid event, and one that I would go back to, there were a few things that I personally would do differently if I were in a position to make changes. They aren’t absolute dealbreakers, but something to be aware of and maybe if the WITS team came across my post, they are easy adjustments to implement!
But yanno, it’s just my 2 cent opinion that should only be taken with a grain of salt or whateva.
More time allotted for meals/exploring

I hinted to this one when I mentioned how fast-paced the WITS Travel Creator Summit is but…WOW. I cannot emphasize this enough. The day is so packed that at times it didn’t feel like I could take a break for a proper meal without missing a session or event. Sure, there are small food bites to grab at the hotel hosting the conference (like Starbucks), but I’m a travel blogger after all! I wanna try some of the local restaurants! Plus, the on-site Starbucks was PACKED.
I honestly would have preferred shorter sessions to allow for a longer lunch/dinner time. Or maybe even paying for local catering? This is probably the most challenging aspect to change since you want to pack in as much conference content as possible. But yeah, I ended up being late and/or missing sessions altogether because I opted to prioritize eating well lol.
Optimize FAM Tours

Don’t get me wrong, even though I didn’t go on any of the WITS Travel Creator Summit tours or trips, I LOVE the idea of them! But but but…I do think they could be done better. My biggest gripe: for the multi-day FAM trips, you don’t get notice of your trip acceptance (or rejection) until about a month before the WITS Travel Creator Summit. A MONTH?!? Do you know how expensive flights are if you wait until a MONTH before to buy your ticket?? It just doesn’t seem very feasible for a lot of folks on budget (either financially or time-wise), and even less so if you aren’t a full-time creator.
My second gripe would be that they FAM tours fill up SO FAST. Which, I get, but…so many people didn’t even get an opportunity to sign up for one before they were all full. Technically, you can sign up for as many tours as you want, and I know some people ended up going on three or four. So to help alleviate this barrier I think it would be more beneficial to everyone if you could only join one tour. That way, more seats are open to a greater number of people. If there are any leftover spots, then a week or so before they could open it up again for double bookings.
Focus on Local

Mmm, I’m not sure how easily this next one could be implemented, but I would really love if WITS Travel Creator Summit were able to focus on choosing locally owned/operated hotels and conference halls to host the event. I get that choosing a large chain makes it easier logistically (everyone can stay in the same building as the conference) but…400+ travel bloggers and industry folk could put a LOT of money back into the local economy.
It was even more apparent in the 2023 destination, Puerto Rico. My little group opted to stay in a locally operated apartment, instead of at the Hilton which was hosting WITS Travel Creator Summit, and our apartment host actually informed us that the entire city of San Juan was experiencing a water shortage and to use our water sparingly. In contrast, all the major hotel chains had their fountains flowing even while it was raining.
I’m just thinking that there HAS to be a midway point between convenience and positive impact.
More Women Reps!!

Technically, men are not excluded from WITS Travel Creator Summit, but honestly, I was expecting most if not all of the brand and tourism board reps to be women and gender-fluid individuals. And…there were kinda a lot of men representing in that department. Don’t get me wrong, men can be cool, but…it does bring into question if unconscious gender biases come into play.
There are SOOO many dope women-owned and operated travel-related companies. I’m not sure what all goes into the selection, obviously, but I think more priority can be placed on women-owned brands and companies with women representatives.
More Varied Tourism Boards

Alright, now maybe I’m being a little too literal but…the WITS Travel Creator Summit has two events. One for Europe. And one for North America. Like…the entire continent of North America. Why were the majority of tourism boards (99.9%) from the USA, and of those, MOST were located on the East Coast?? You know how hard it is to get to Vermont from Portland, Oregon for a weekend press trip??
This isn’t necessarily a critique, maybe just a suggestion. But could we pleaseee get more variety in the tourism boards that attend WITS Travel Creator Summit?? Can we get some Canadian and Mexican tourism boards? The Caribbean?? Central America??? AT LEAST THE WEST COAST?!
Again – I don’t know what all goes into it. Maybe others aren’t applying. But geez, idk maybe some incentive would help?
Improve Accessibility

I want to start off by saying I thought WITS Travel Creator Summit really put some effort into making the conference accessible. Which was great.
But…there’s always room for improvement!
For example, I am currently learning ASL and also my hearing is not the greatest, so I reached out via email asking if transcripts of the sessions would be available and/or if a sign language interpreter would be onsite. There was no interpreters and also no transcripts for the majority of the sessions, however, Wanderful did offer a few accessibility options:
- For those who need audio accommodation, each room has a few seats in the front that have reserved seating signs on them.
- There is empty space available in the center of each room if you use a wheelchair.
- If you need to use Otter’s transcription services, you can download the app and use their functionality to automatically transcribe live, in-person sessions. If you do this, please send an invoice after the event and Wanderful will reimburse you for the cost of that month’s subscription on Otter.

So I thought that was a pretty cool start – but could we please get some transcripts?? I think having a ramp onto the main stage would also be beneficial. I also wish the panels and conversations around plus-size travel/travelers and disabled travel/travelers were not at the same time as other sessions and networking time and given a more prioritized time slot so that folks wouldn’t have to choose because those two sessions in particular were so powerful and important that they should be at the forefront of the WITS Travel Creator Summit.
Tips for WITS Travel Creator Summit
Okay, I’ve talked your entire ear off about the ins and outs of the WITS Travel Creator Summit, but what are my concrete tips on how to make it the most beneficial event for a first-time attendee? Don’t worry fam, I gotchu.
#1: Know Thy Self

One of my biggest tips for the WITS Travel Creator Summit is to make accommodations to prioritize your comfort. In general, most conferences are not about comfort at ALL, so you’ll want to maximize that in your downtime instead of just looking at convenience.
If you are someone who needs a reset to recharge your social battery after networking and engaging all day, it might be beneficial to find housing off-site and away from the action. Meanwhile, if you know that being separated from the event will take you out of the energy you need to be engaged, get a room with another blogger or stay on-site!
If you know you get overwhelmed, it could be helpful to find a ritual or coping habit ahead of time so that you are able to identify in the moment and step away if/when needed.
Set personal boundaries ahead of time (aiming to be in bed by x-time, spending a max of $$ a day to stay on budget, setting aside time to workout/journal/meditate/etc) so that you won’t be peer pressured into not prioritizing things that are in your best interest mentally and physically. Hanging out and having fun is great and one of the best parts of the WITS Travel Creator Summit, YES, but also you have to look out for yourself and your well-being in the long run too.
#2: Have Clear Professional Objectives

If you want to make the most out of your time at the WITS Travel Creator Summit (objectively), then you have to be frank with yourself. What do you want out of WITS? Let’s break that down.
WHAT do you want: Are you attending the conference because you want brand partnerships? Press trips? Do you want to gain public speaking experience, or put yourself on the path for that? Do you want to monetize (or further monetize) your website? Do you want to network with folks that will lead to opportunities in travel writing? Photography? Advertisement? Entrepreneurship? Television? Do you want to collaborate and meet other bloggers?
The possibilities are endless, but if you don’t have a clear picture of what you are looking for, it can get lost in the rush. If you don’t exactly know what you want, that’s okay too! There are a lot of fish at WITS, so you can throw out a net and see what happens, but…you’ll want a good net. Which leads me to…

What do YOU want: There are a ton of faces at WITS Travel Creator Summit. How will YOU keep yourself memorable and interesting (yanno, aside from how amazing you already are). You should work on a good elevator pitch. Who you are, what you do, and what you offer. If you can keep it to 1-2 sentences – FANTASTIC. Update/make your media kit. Get your website in order (contact page, good speed, mobile friendly!), or if you don’t have a website yet, make sure your social media accounts are sparkling.
And another thing – everyone says to skip out on business cards. I skipped out on business cards.
I wish I hadn’t.
They’re so so easy to hand out and will have all of your information right there. They’re amazing. My advice, try to take business cards.
#3: For the Socially Anxious…

Hi. I’m Kay, the Awkward Traveller. In a SHOCKING turn of events, I get very socially anxious in large crowds.
Who would’ve guessed?
If you are like me, don’t worry. As I said before, you won’t be the only one standing awkwardly in a corner wishing you were anywhere else but a travel blogging conference. But it’s still not very comfortable.
My biggest tip for this is to have a story or topic in mind that you are confident talking about. I mean, I can’t be the only person that plans conversations in advance, right??? Thankfully, since you’ll be at a literal travel blogging conference, there are a few super easy and seamless topics you can pull from:
- Travel: where are they located, have they always lived there, what do they like/dislike about that place? How long have they been traveling regularly? Have they traveled anywhere recently? Where are they headed next?
- Blogging: how long have they been blogging? How do they plan their content? What’s their next step (if any) in blogging?

Badda big badda boom, you’ve got yourself a full-blown conversation right there, especially because they’ll probably ask the same questions back to you. But let’s say the conversation is dying out, or dragging on, or…you feel that imposter syndrome sneaking up on you. My best method for escaping has been…to pretend I have somewhere else to be.
“Ooh, sorry, I have a meeting coming up! It was so nice meeting you/chatting with you, hopefully we can reconnect before the weekend ends!” *hurries away smiling and waving*
Worked like a charm every time.
#4: Stay Longer if Possible

Especially if the destination of the WITS Travel Creator Summit is somewhere you’ve never been before, one of my biggest tips is to give yourself a few days before and after the conference. One, because you can attend the included FAM trips and tours. BUT ALSO to just explore! If you have the extra PTO, I highly recommend it, especially because you won’t have the opportunity to see much of the city during the WITS Travel Creator Summit.
That’s how I was able to eat at so many fantastic restaurants in San Juan! And who knows, you might even make a new best friend at the conference and want to turn your extra days into a content creation trip!
#5: Follow up!!!!

And my last and final (I promise, lol) tip for the WITS Travel Creator Summit is to follow up on all of the wonderful connections you’ve made over the weekend. I would recommend drafting up a follow email template to send out the following week a la:
“Hello! It was so nice to connect at the WITS Travel Creator Summit in San Juan, Puerto Rico (or whatever the destination is). I hope you’ve recovered after such an eventful weekend! Just to reacquaint myself, I’m Kay, travel writer and blogger at The Awkward Traveller and I use my blog to focus on making travel more accessible and relatable via storytelling and cultural exchanges. I would love to collaborate/partner on (insert whatever it is the brand does and how you can work together blah blah). Looking forward to speaking again soon!”
Or…something along those lines, yanno make it sound snazzy! During the WITS Travel Creator Summit, keep a running list on your phone notes app of people and brands you’d like to follow up with so it makes your job easier when you get around to it!
And ALSO don’t forget to follow up with all the other amazing creators you’ve no doubt followed on social media throughout the WITS Travel Creator Summit! Go through their accounts and actually like, comment, subscribe etc to the people whose content you value! Get to know them – as more than just their account persona! Foster those relationships because those peer-to-peer networks are more powerful than you know!

Hi Kay. I’ve never been to a blogging conference. I think I would be nervous like you were. But it sounds interesting, maybe it’s in my future! 😛
That would be dope! Maybe we’ll see each other at one!
Thank you so much for writing this post. I was thinking that I might like to attend a travel blogging event at some point but was a bit nervous. This post has informed about what to expect – Thank you!
Wooo excited for your first one!
Love your perspective here! I attended this WITS, the previous North American one and several other travel conferences. This is an in-depth review. Hope someone from WITS sees it too 🙂
Same! I selfishly want them to try to get a conference in Mexico! Hahaha
I’ve never been to a blogger conference before, but I’m definitely interested in one. I still have that imposter syndrome going on, like my blog needs to be further along before I go to a conference. Plus, the cost is a concern as well. But you post encourages me to try one next year.
Ooo yes I believe in you!!
