Ultimate TESSAN Review: Do 4 Products Live Up to the Hype?

I am a participant in affiliate programs, so basically I earn a small commission if you use any of the affiliate links on this post - at no extra cost to you! Dope right?

Spoiler – yes. If you’ve been going back and forth about whether you should invest in a TESSAN product, I’ll save you the time of reading this whole TESSAN review post – overall, yes, they are fantastic quality and an incredible company to support.

In this consumeristic world where companies are always trying to find the cheapest way to make money off of customers, I can confidently say that TESSAN is completely different. TESSAN cares about quality and actually innovating in the travel tech space, they respect and honor their customers, and they have a healthy and sustainable business environment.

My own personal journey with TESSAN began a year or two ago when I decided to finally invest in a nice universal travel adapter. If you don’t know what a travel adapter is, basically different countries have different outlet sockets so you need an adapter so you can plug your device into the wall if you are traveling somewhere that has different wall outlets. While you can buy country or outlet-specific adapters, for travelers it’s easier to just buy an adapter that can fit multiple outlets.

After doing some research and asking around to people who travel WAY more than I do, I landed on TESSAN. That adapter really changed the way I look at travel gadgets, mostly because it is so durable and is still with me on every single trip and hasn’t sparked or died or even fallen out of the wall once. You really do get what you pay for.

Speaking of, since speaking so highly of TESSAN, I have been on their radar and they’ve offered to send me some of their new products! Super exciting – and really really generous of them. And in this economy, I’m definitely taking them up on that hahah.

However, for the purpose of this TESSAN review, I am only reviewing the products that I have personally bought and spent my own money on.

I don’t have the full line-up of every single one of their products (at least not yet), but of the items I have bought they are all still working AND working better than their competitors I have. Basically, I recommend all of them, but hopefully this TESSAN review will help point you in the right direction for the product that will work best for your needs.

Let’s get into it!

TESSAN Products

Currently, I have 3 products that I have bought and will include in this TESSAN review. As time goes on and I acquire more, I will definitely add them in. For example, I have 2 new products that I have pre-ordered (and paid for myself!) that I will eventually add to this TESSAN review once I receive them and use them on a few trips.

I know I already spoiled it before, but I am ultimately happy with all the products. So I’m going to go in order of how often I use the product and give my thoughts that way.

Universal Travel Adapter: absolutely EVERY trip

My tried and true – the TESSAN universal travel adapter, specifically their Voyager 205 travel adapter. It isn’t my first TESSAN travel adapter though. I first started with their more affordable option which also worked great and was the product that initially made me loyal to the TESSAN brand. I’ve since given it to my sister who is now obsessed with it, and I highly recommend that one if you want to upgrade your tech but aren’t quite in the position for something pricey just yet.

When you are ready though, get the Voyager 205. It will change your life. It really is the world’s most powerful charger and can simultaneously charge multiple devices at fast speeds. It is compatible in over 200 countries and is sturdier yet more compact compared to adapters that claim to have the same specs.

If you take nothing else from this TESSAN review, know that you should get a TESSAN universal travel adapter.

Charging Station: if I’ll be working while traveling

If I’m traveling anywhere for more than four days, chances are I’ll need to work on something – either homework since I am a traveling grad school student, or working freelance. So in those instances, I always pack my CS07 charging station. For one, it allows me to work with my almost 10 year old laptop (that always has to be plugged in) while also giving extra spots to charge my phone and other devices.

This absolutely saved me during my South American sabattical when I had to frantically balance adventurous travel through five countries while also staying on top of advanced organic and analytical chemistry. You just don’t know how many outlets and plugs you need when battling altitude sickness and trying to scramble between the textbook pdf, lecture notes, and the actual quiz all on different devices in a freezing cold hotel in Cusco.

Plus, it has a super cute cat face that changes depending on if it’s actively charging something or not. Honestly, that alone is why I use it more than the outlet extender which…pretty much does the same thing. Just less cat. But since this is a TESSAN review, is this particular charging station a necessity? If you like cute things, yes. Otherwise, you can opt for another TESSAN product for additional outlet options.

Power Strip: living room staple

Now the power strip, admittedly I just got the TESSAN surge protector power strip because it was on sale and a good deal. However, I soon realized how amazing it was that it had a flat outlet plug. I didn’t realize it was something I needed, but truly once you make the switch you’ll never go back.

I think it’s advertised for use in a hotel room, which sure yes it can totally be used for that. Except I have my cat charging station, so for many people it might not be a necessary travel gadget. For home though? Life changing.

In my living room, I basically use it as a more functional (and cuter) extension cord. Because of its flat plug, it can easily fit behind a couch or dresser without the object or furniture needing to stick out far from the wall.

Outlet Extender: in my day pack domestically

And finally, the last item for this TESSAN review is their outlet extender. Again, because I have the cat charging station, I don’t usually need to use this in hotels, but I still bring it with me for a very specific reason. It’s more compact than my cat charging station so I keep it in my carry-on backpack to use in airports.

The second use (since I already have it in my carry-on), is when I’m out and about at home. I don’t often head to co-working spaces, but when I do it’s nice to have a few extra plugs. Or if I’m traveling domestically with friends and we’re out, it’s easy for all of use to charge up our devices during a cafe break.

If you don’t have any other devices that multiply your outlet usage, and you’re not in a place that has different outlets, then this is a great device that doesn’t take up much space.

Future TESSAN devices

While that’s it for my official TESSAN review, I already have a few new gadgets on the way once they release! Since being introduced to TESSAN, I get really pumped for all of their new announcements and I currently have two in pre-order that will be shipping towards the end of the year.

So stay tuned for these new additions to the TESSAN review coming soon.

  • AERO 70 – Smart Travel Adapter: Yes, I already have a TESSAN travel adapter, but this one is going to set the bar! I joined their kickstarter and got it at a great price, but even retail I think it’s going to be well worth it. Along with the standard TESSAN excellence, it will also come with a smart display as well as overload protection for devices.
  • AERO 5000 – Magnetic Power Bank: I didn’t initially buy into the pre-order only because I already had a power bank…until my trip to a music festival where I had to hold my wired bulky power bank up along with my phone the entire night. With this one, it’s as powerful (if not more) as the wired ones AND it’s magnetic so you don’t have to hold an additional device.

TESSAN Customer Service

Last but not least in this TESSAN review, I want to reiterate TESSAN’s integrity as a company. They really are some great employees over there, and they have fantastic customer service. You are speaking to real people there, and that alone is comforting considering the world of drop-shipping and AI that is dominating the brand market these days.

I’ve thankfully not needed to contact TESSAN for any problems on my end, but during their Kickstarter there was some kind of issue with shipping, or people submitting their shipping details, and they immediately alerted all the backers with a clear explanation, a detailed revision, and a timeline of how things would play out. Thier transparency and leading with honesty is one of my favorite things about TESSAN.

Conclusion

Overall, I only have good things to say about TESSAN and their products. They are a company that I’m happy to support and are actively cheering for their success. At the same time, I’m a customer and I wanted to give an honest TESSAN review so other people can choose which products are right for them.

At the very least, get the travel adapter. Everything else is just a cherry on top. But a reallyyyy good cherry haha. There are products that I don’t have for various reasons but are probably great. For example, there’s the desktop charging station – I technically already have one. When that one inevitably dies, I’ll likely replace it with this one. Or maybe I’ll get one for my desk at work. We’ll see!

In any case, those are the products I have (and have an eye on), but I encourage you to browse the site since they have adapters that are more slim/light/have additional elements that may be more suited for your needs. TLDR; Buy TESSAN!
