My 10+ Favorite Best Restaurants in Hong Kong for All Taste Buds

Hong Kong is hands down one of my favorite food destinations, so I definitely know about some good restaurants in Hong Kong. And while there are plenty of fun things to do in Hong Kong, especially if you have a full 4 days in Hong Kong to explore, something I always recommend to those visiting is to eat EVERYTHING. While I’ve only visited twice, I do have a new running list of my favorite restaurants in Hong Kong.
Naturally, this list is not complete and I will be adding to it the more I visit and eat my way through the country. With that in mind, this post is going to be a LOT shorter than my usual, but hopefully it’ll be a good starting point as you begin to plan your own trip. Not that you can really go too wrong picking from all the incredible restaurants in Hong Kong, but you know what I mean.
Table of Contents
Breakfast
- Tai Hing: While in Hong Kong, you have to try a classic Hong Kong diner experience and that’s what you get at Tai Hing. It’s an interesting fusion of British and Chinese breakfast, and it’s a favorite option for quick bites for both locals and travelers.
- Tim Ho Wan: And if you want a low-key classic dim sum experience, you have to try out Tim Ho Wan. There are a few locations, so choose whichever is most convenient for your itinerary. It’s Michelin starred but with an affordable price tag. It doesn’t have the dim sum cart though.

Casual
- Blue House Hong Kong: This is a casual Italian deli at the Rosewood Hong Kong Hotel (fantastic hotel btw, you can read about my experience staying there here). I’m personally not the biggest fan of Italian food (I know I knowww) but I would go back here in a heartbeat!
- Paradise Dynasty: The infamously delicious rainbow xiao long baos! While I ate at a lot of delicious restaurants in Hong Kong during my first trip, this one was the only one I remembered to write down because it was that good.

Fancy
- Sagano: Fantastic Japanese restaurants, and one of the oldest (or longest continuously running, I don’t remember exactly) Japanese restaurants in Hong Kong! Located in the New World Millennium Hong Kong Hotel, the food is legit – and I’ve had a lot of Japanese food.
- Duddell’s: Now Duddell’s hands down has my #1 spot for favorite restaurants in Hong Kong. It’s pricey, but their modern take on Cantonese food stole my HEART!
- Bayfare Social: This is a fun dinner spot, also at the Rosewood Hong Kong. The menu has all the usual Spanish tapas, but with an elevated flair to them. Great for groups as well.
- Louise: If you’re looking for more traditionally “fancy” restaurants in Hong Kong, Louise takes the cake. Plus, it’s right next to PMQ which is a huge shopping complex with small local designers and shops.
- Mott 32: If you’re feeling whimsical then definitely go here. The atmosphere is chic and I’m still thinking about their caviar duck. Yes, caviar on roasted duck. CATCH UP!!!

Dessert
- Tokachi Milky: If you’re staying at the Rosewood Hong Kong, then you’re right across from the K11 shopping mall. Inside, you’ll find incredible Hokkaido soft serve. There’s nothing better than dairy from Hokkaido. Grab a cone and see for yourself.
Conclusion
Again, this list is incomplete and I’ll be adding to it as time goes on. In the meantime, if you need more recommendations for restaurants in Hong Kong, check out my friend Nam from Laugh Travel Eat. She’s a Hong Kong native and has incredible tastes in both food and drinks!
